
• Holder of a BA in journalism and publishing, Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, class of 1976.
• Joined Al-Gomhuriya newspaper in the same year and was appointed few months later.
• Joined the Local News Desk, where he became scientific research, agriculture, transportation, communications, and information technology (IT) news editor.
• His distinguished competence in covering the activities of the ministries, where he was posted, helped him become head of the local news desk in a record time.
• He became deputy and first deputy to the editor in chief of Al-Gomhuriya newspaper.
• In 2005, he was appointed editor in chief of Al-Gomhuriya Monthly Book.
• For 17 times, he was elected as a member of el-Tahrir Publishing and Printing House Board.
• For two consecutive sessions, he was elected as member of the Press Syndicate Board, which unanimously named him as the union's secretary-general. He served this post for eight years.
• As the Syndicate's Secretary General, he participated in preparing for the union's emergency and regular meetings after the passing of Law No. 93/1995, which was reputed as the killer legislation for journalism and journalists. He led a campaign by his fellow journalists to pressure the Government to rescind this ill-reputed law. The Government responded to his fair demand and cancelled the law.
• He was elected as a member of the drafting committee that was responsible for writing the provisions of Law No. 96/1996 that replaced Law No. 93/1995.
• He enriched the Arabic library with five books dealing with the transportation and communications sectors in Egypt, the most famous of which is the Fourth Satellite Revolution.
• He writes a political article in the weekly edition of al-Gomhuriya newspaper under the title of "Towards the Future". He also writes an article for the weekly Arabic magazine Hurriyati under the title of "The Hot Line". In the weekly edition of the evening newspaper Al-Messa, he has an article called "Hello".
• He supervises and edits specialised pages dealing with transportation and IT in Al-Gomhuriya newspaper under the banner of Sans Frontieres, or Without Borders.
• He supervises the 139 Hot Line Section of Al-Gomhuriya newspaper. This section offers one of a kind service that helps the citizens solve their problems that are published by the newspaper in the form of a news story or an appeal every Monday.
